The Department of Community Development in Piteå Municipality is responsible for city traffic within the municipality. Länstrafiken i Norrbotten is responsible for local bus lines in rural areas and for trunk lines within Norrbotten County.

You may bring your dog/cat with you on the bus, provided that no passengers with allergies are present. Please consult with the driver. If there is someone on the bus who is allergic to pets, they take precedence over your dog/cat. Guide dogs cannot be refused entry.

All city buses in Piteå are low-entry buses. This means they have a low entry height and can also kneel. The rear entrance of the buses is also equipped with a fold-out ramp, making it easy for those using a wheelchair or walker to board and disembark. Inside the buses, there are dedicated wheelchair restraints.

Statistics show that bus travel decreases during the summer. The municipality has therefore invested in more departures during the winter when there are more passengers.

Piteå Municipality decides on new route layouts based on proposals from Nobina. The intention of changing route layouts is to increase the attractiveness of public transport by making travel times shorter and smarter for more passengers compared to today.
